Many women find it extremely challenging to discuss personal issues related to intimate health. Issues such as stress urinary incontinence (leaking when you cough or sneeze), and issues pertaining to a women's sexual function such as laxity, decreased vaginal sensation, decreased lubrication, pain with intercourse, and decreased sex drive, are very common female concerns. Women can experience vaginal changes as a result of age, hormonal changes, and childbirth.
There are very few places that are focused on educating and encouraging women to share and ask for help regarding intimate health concerns.
1) Women assume and accept that these are normal symptoms.
2) Women are reluctant to bring up the subject of intimate health topic with their health care practitioner and vice versa.
3) Up until recently, there have been a limited number of non-surgical treatment options for women with intimate health issues.
Women's intimate health issues can now be treated with a non-surgical, comfortable, "lunch-time" procedure which is non-invasive. requires no anesthesia, and with no downtime.

At Elite Wellness MediSpa, we offer the Viveve treatment system for women who desire to improve symptoms of laxity or loss of sensation, changes in sexual function, and stress urinary incontinence.

What is the Viveve System?
The Viveve system is a patented, cryogen-cooled radio frequency device that rebuilds natural collagen to improve the structural integrity of the vagina and to support the urethra. The system is designed to treat women who are experiencing urinary incontinence – leaking urine when laughing, coughing, sneezing, or jumping; sexual dysfunction and vaginal laxity – the stretching and expansion of vaginal tissue after childbirth, with age or due to hormonal changes. Studies have shown sustained results for up to 12 months or longer.

How many treatments do you need?
One single treatment is all that is required to experience the improvement of symptoms. However, the level of improvement will vary from patient to patient.

How long does the treatment take?
The advanced technology of the Viveve treatment can stimulate the body’s natural collagen formation in just a single 30-60-minute treatment session, depending on your symptoms.

What to expect after the treatment?
Viveve uses gentle deep heating and surface cooling technology to stimulate the body’s natural collagen formation process. You should notice an increase in nerve sensitivity and strong muscle contractions, along with increased lubrication and reduction of urinary leakage, without any downtime. In most cases, normal activity can be resumed immediately after the treatment, and patients are advised to refrain from sexual intercourse for 48 hours.

Who is a good candidate for Viveve?
Post-Childbirth Vaginal Laxity
Vaginal laxity is a common affliction found in new mothers. It results from the expansion of the vagina to accommodate a baby while it makes its way through the birth canal. Vaginal looseness and overstretched tissue following childbirth can cause reduced sexual sensitivity and urinary incontinence. Women suffering from these symptoms can start to see improvements after just a few weeks of treatment with Viveve. Mothers can receive treatment as soon as 8 to 12 weeks following childbirth, whether it is your first or fifth baby.

Sexual Sensitivity
Women sometimes experience a loss of sensitivity or inadequate sensations during sex due to vaginal laxity. These symptoms can arise from a variety of reasons, including childbirth, hormone imbalance, aging, medical condition, a lack of vaginal sensitivity, and rigidity. They can cause detriments in sexual stimulation over time. Due to vaginal laxity, many women sometimes experience a loss of sensitivity or inadequate climax sensations during sex. The innovative technology of the Viveve gently uses radio frequencies to repair existing tissue to help restore the elastin and collagen that make for a healthy, tight, and sensitive vagina. This stimulation can generate a natural rejuvenation of your tissue, encouraging the vaginal wall to provide more lubrication and sensitivity during sex. The long-lasting results of Viveve can also improve the quality and intensity of climaxes and create a more sensational experience for you and your partner.
Vaginal Laxity
Women who struggle with a strong need to urinate and difficulty getting to the toilet in time may be suffering from urge incontinence. It is similar to stress incontinence which is the inability to prevent leaking urine when coughing, sneezing, laughing, or exercising. These forms of urinary incontinence are most common among postpartum, postmenopausal, and menopausal women.

Decreased levels of collagen and the deterioration of estrogen are often the cause of incontinence in menopausal and postmenopausal women. This reduces the vulvovaginal mucosa and leads to vaginal laxity. Viveve can improve urinary incontinence by tackling vaginal laxity through a non-invasive, low-risk application of heat to the vaginal wall. As the collagen tissue is repaired and regenerated, the vaginal wall becomes more toned and flexible, helping improve your body's ability to properly manage urine flow.
